Welcome to my Spring Math Teaching Resources page. On this page, you will find
unique math lesson plans and activities for April, May, and springtime.
The resources on these pages have spring graphics, animals, nature, or
bright colors in them. The majority of these math resources
are appropriate to use all year long.
On this page, you will find math powerpoint lessons, a caterpillar math
number line, a brightly colored fractions display, and math sticker charts.
This math classroom display resource includes equivalent sized fraction bars
for 1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, and 1/8. Each bar measures 19 inches
in length when glued together.
These large fraction bars are ideal when first introducing fractions
to your students. You can also use them to make a math bulletin
board display about fractions.
These 7 fraction bars are glued together similar to gluing together
a long bulletin board display banner.
This set also includes student fraction worksheets for you to use with your
students when you are introducing fractions to them.
In the first worksheet (shown below), the fractions bars are lined up next to each other
so that students can visually compare and see the relationships between
the different fractions (1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8). There are also color versions
of these printable worksheets for you to use included in this classroom display set.
In the second worksheet, the fraction bars are separated into horizontal pieces, so
that it is easy for students to cut these into 7 separate strips of fraction bars.
In the third and fourth set of printable worksheets,
the fraction bars are separated into individual pieces.
This math teaching resources set also contains 4 student worksheets that require
students to use their fraction bars to solve different types of questions.
This is a caterpillar shaped number line that you can use as a display
along the walls of your classroom or along the top of chalkboard or whiteboard.
Although I have posted this resource on my spring math teaching resources
page, this caterpillar number line can be displayed in your classroom all year long.
This caterpillar math number line can be displayed straight across.
You could also make this caterpillar number line weave up and down as if it is crawling.
Each section of the caterpillar's body contains a number. This number line
contains the numbers 1 - 100. This teaching resources set contains 104 pages
of printable worksheets (title speech bubble, head, antennas, tail, and 100 numbered sections).
The numbers are colored green inside the caterpillar's body, but the
tens (10, 20, 30, ...100) are colored white so that they stand out
in the number line display.
There are 9 different colors of feet (for example: 1, 11, 21, 31,...91 all
have red feet and 2, 12, 22, 32, ...92 all have yellow feet, etc).
Each separate number template measures 6.5 inches in width, so with 100 number sections, the
entire caterpillar number line display is over 650 inches (54 feet) in length.
This set of spring math teaching resources contains 5 math puzzles. You can use these fun puzzles
as a warm activity for students and do one each day of the week for an entire week of school.
This math powerpoint is similar to the other math puzzles that I have on my Halloween,
Thanksgiving, and Winter teaching resources pages. In order to solve this set of spring themed
math puzzles, students have to solve addition, subtraction, and multiplication equations.
There are two printable worksheets in this set for students to write their answers on.
In order to solve the puzzles, only the numbers 1-9 are used in the boxes, and
each number is used one time.

This funny math powerpoint presention contains word problems for students to solve using
addition and subtraction. Your students will enjoy solving the
word problems using this farm themed Old MacDonald math powerpoint activity.
As Old MacDonald is buying or selling items for his farm, students are also reviewing
money skills such as decimal points and place value.
Your students will enjoy calculating how much money Old MacDonald has spent,
on buying materials for his farm and the animals on the farm.
I use this math powerpoint presentation as a warm up activity at the beginning of my math lesson.
There are 5 sets of word problems in this powerpoint lesson,
so it is ideal to have students complete one word problem a day for an entire week.
Although this activity is on my math teaching
resources page, this activity could be used anytime
during the school year. Your students will love reviewing
multiplication, addition, and money equations with this engaging
and animated math activity!

Multiplication Pizza Sticker Charts
This unique multiplication chart grows in height as your students learn their multiplication facts.
As students learn a new times table, they place an ice cream scoop on top of their cones. When students have learned all of their times tables, they will have 10 (or 12) scoops on top of their cones.
