Awards For All Subjects: Welcome to the student awards and certificates section of Unique Teaching Resources that focuses on awards that can be used for a variety of different classes.

On this page, you will find awards to present to your elementary school students for improvement, effort, attendance, citizenship, birthdays, and many other categories.

These certificates can be presented in a variety of different subject areas including language arts, math, science, social studies, and many other classes.

Many teachers present awards to their students at the end of the term, semester, or school year. I encourage you to present awards to your students throughout the school year.

I like to catch my students doing good" and I reward them by presenting them with a certificate. Starting on the first day of school, I try to focus on the positive by handing out a variety of different awards to my students throughout the school week. By incorporating this simple practice into my school week, I have found that my students continued to work hard and use their best effort in my classroom throughout the school year.

All of the printable student award certificates that are found on this page contain a color template of the award and a black and white template of the award. In order to save space on this page, I have only shown examples of the color templates.

I have designed all of my awards and certificates with a large border around them so that they are easy for you to cut out. You may want to laminate your awards so that they are more durable and look even more impressive.

Improvement Award Certificate
For Boys and Girls

Recognizing and rewarding student improvement is a powerful teaching and behavior management tool that teacher should utilize. This improvement award can be presented to elementary school students for a variety of different subject areas and occasions.

I have designed two versions of this improvement award certificate, one for boy students and another for girl students. This improvement award can be given across any subject area or to recognize improved behavior.

Super Effort Cheerleader Award Certificate

Recognizing and rewarding student effort is a powerful teaching and behavior management tool that teachers should utilize. Use this super effort award to recognize students who have tried their best, even if they have not achieved a top grade for a particular assignment.

Not all students receive an A+ on an exam, have memorized all of their multiplication tables perfectly, or are the best athlete in their class, but all students can demonstrate using their best effort and should be recognized for their outstanding effort. Let your students know that you are cheering for them by presenting them with this award!

Enormous Effort Award Certificate

This is a second effort award that you can present to your elementary school students for any occasion or subject.

Although both of my effort awards can be presented to boys and girls, I give my girl students the Super Effort Cheerleader award (found above on this page) and I present my boy students with this Enormous Effort Elephant award.

Good Apple Student Award Certificate

This is a general award that you can present to your students for any occasion from giving a great oral presention about George Washington to doing an excellent job on a book report project.

I used an apple border and classroom theme when I created this template. Your students will be proud to bring this Good Apple award home with them to show to their parents.

Racing To Success Award Certificate

This is a general achievement award that you can present to your students for a variety of different reasons. Your students will appreciate that you are recognizing their accomplishments with this race car themed award certificate. Remember to define "success" differently for each of your students, based on each student's own ability level.

Try a twist on presenting awards and have your students select the reason for receiving this award themselves. At the end of the week, ask your students to reflect on the past five days and choose what they did during that week that they are proud of. Then, present each student with this award based on what they felt was their most successful accomplishment.

Flying High Award Certificate

This is a general award that you can present to your students for any subject area from doing a great job on writing a poem for English class to showing improvement in math.

I used a cloud border and flying theme when I created this template. Your students will be Flying High when they bring this award certificate home with them to show to their parents.

Dive Into Learning Award Certificate

Dive into using positive reinforcement with your students this year by presenting them with a variety of different award certificates during the school year.

I used an underwater theme when I created this template. This is a general achievement award that you can present to your students for a variety of different reasons and subject areas.

You Reached Your Target Award Certificate

This is an award that you can present to a student when he or she has a achieved a particular goal. This You Reached Your Target award would be ideal to use to reward students who have done well on a behavior or homework contract.

Try having your students set their own targets. At the beginning of a new month, show your students this award certificate and have them set a goal that they would like to work towards achieving during that month. Once a student has reached her goal, present her with this award that she can take home and share with her parents.

Note: Some students set targets that are too hard to achieve in a short period of time. Make sure that each of your students has selected a goal that you feel that they can realistically achieve within the time period that has been selected.

Something To Smile About Award Certificate

All of our students do something during the school week that is "worth smiling about" whether it is writing a touching journal entry, being the teacher's helper, or stepping in when they see a classmate being bullied.

Let your students know that they brought a smile to your face by presenting them with this award. Your students will be "smiling from ear to ear" when they bring this award certificate home with them to share with their parents.

100% Attendance Award
For Boys and Girls

Are you looking for a perfect attendance certificate to present to your students? I have designed two versions of this 100% Attendance award, one for boy students and another for girl students.

This 100% attendance award is designed for lower elementary school students and has an apple border around it and younger children are used in the graphics.

100% Attendance Skateboard Award

Let your students know that it's cool to attend school every day by presenting them with this perfect attendance award that I designed with a skateboard theme.

This second perfect attendance award is designed for upper elementary school students and contains graphics using older elementary school students.

Good Citizenship Certificate

I created this Good Citizenship award to promote acts of kindness in my classroom and to recognize students who are thoughtful and help others. For this award, I often have my students nominate their classmates that they feel deserve this special award. Throughout the year, I emphasize the fact that I considered this award to be the top honor that students can receive in my classroom.

As teachers, we often do not get the chance to observe all of the kind things that our students do during recess, lunch, PE, art, music, and computer classes. My students really enjoy taking time at the end of the day to tell me all of the kind things that their classmates have done during the day that I didn't get to observe. I have these Good Citizenship awards on hand to quickly fill out to present to my students after I have heard about the thoughtful things that they have done outside of my classroom.

I used graphics of younger elementary school children in this second Good Citizenship award that I designed.

Happy Birthday Certificate

Prior to school starting, I use my student information sheets and fill out a Happy Birthday certificate for each of my students so that I do not have to think of this task again during the school year (except for new students who arrive during the year). I place these birthday award certificates in order by month and then they are ready to hand out to my students on their birthdays.
