By using these unique fish reading incentive charts, you will be providing motivation and positive reinforcement for your students to read 8 different genres of literature within the time period that you select.
This reading incentive program is divided into eight genres: fantasy, mystery, adventure, science fiction, realistic fiction, historical fiction, nonfiction biography, nonfiction information, and a free choice selection.
Your students will enjoy taking their completed Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts home with them when they have reached their reading goal and sharing this achievement with their parents. The parents of your students will appreciate the extra effort that you have put into promoting reading different genres of literature in your classroom.
I grew up in Florida and I learned how to scuba dive when I was 18. Above is a picture of me diving in Cozumel, Mexico. I have lived in Guam, Hawaii, and Indonesia and while I was in those locations, I had the opportunity to dive in some of the world's most beautiful coral reefs.
I always wanted to create a bulletin board display that would represent the beautiful scenery, fish, and animals that I observed living in the ocean.
I tried to include sea life that swims and also sea life that you would find along the sand in these fish Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts, so that the finished effect would be a bulletin board display with sea life swimming in the water and sea life along the sand on the bottom of the ocean.
The angel fish, puffer fish, jelly fish, turtle, butterfly fish, clown fish, and sting ray are sea life that would swim in the ocean. The eel, sea snail, and sea snake would be found along the sand at the bottom of the ocean.
To create this effect, you need to use blue bulletin board paper for your background. Then, on the bottom section of your bulletin board, use brown bulletin board paper to create the sand at the bottom of the ocean. Cut the brown paper so that it has little hills on it, and so that your sand is not flat. If you look at the background of the banner that is provided in these sets, it will give you a good idea of how to design your bulletin board's background of a blue ocean and brown sand.
These uniquely shaped Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts contain:
These Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts will make a colorful ocean bulletin board display that will help you to motivate your students to read a variety of different genres of literature.
By giving each of your students a different fish sticker chart template, you will have an ocean bulletin board display that contains 11 different types of sea life.
These Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts include 11 different fish templates. Each template takes up the majority of the space on one piece of paper, although a few of these fish are on two pages, and there are two templates that are glued together.
Each fish set contains black and white templates for you to use if you want your students to color their sticker charts themselves. Each fish set also contains two color templates for you to choose from. I have provided a left and right copy of each fish template so that your bulletin board display of these sticker charts will contain fish swimming in both directions.
Below is an example of the Angel Fish Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts in black and white and color templates. To save space on this page, I will only be showing the color templates for the rest of these fish sticker charts.
I personally like to print out the color templates of the fish for my students to use. I think that the color templates make for a very vibrant and eye catching bulletin board display of my students genre reading sticker charts.
I select a variety of different colored fish templates, facing both left and right, and cut them out myself. I write each student's name on a different template and then I laminate all of these Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts. By doing this, later when I take each student's fish chart off of my bulletin board, the chart does not accidentally rip. I also think that it looks impressive to parents to send home these colored laminated fish sticker chart templates when they are completed, so that my students can post them in their bedroom, or on the refrigerator, as a sign of their reading achievement.
After students have completed reading a book in one of the genre categories, I give my students a small sticker that fits inside each box on their charts, and then they go to the bulletin board and place their sticker in the correct genre box.
I let my students choose the order in which they read their books and complete their genre fish reading chart, so all of my students are reading different genres of literature at the same time for their independent reading program.
I realize that not all teachers are able to print out color templates for each of their students, so I have provided black and white templates. You can have your students color their genre fish reading sticker charts themselves using the black and white templates.
In addition to the 11 different fish templates in this set of teaching resources, I have designed a matching bulletin board banner, student award certificate, large dolphins, large whales, and matching bulletin board accent pieces.
There are 11 different fish sticker chart templates in this set of teaching resources. Each fish has a black and white template and a color template for you to choose from.

Many teachers like to make classroom bulletin board displays featuring their students' reading incentive charts. These sticker chart displays provide a strong visual reminder to students of the reading goal that they are trying to achieve.
I know that it takes teachers a lot of valuable time to assemble their bulletin board displays. Many teachers spend hours of time cutting out large display letters or making a banner on their own at home on their computer.
This time is valuable and better spent on developing your classroom curriculum and grading papers, so I have designed a matching 5 page banner for your bulletin board display.
If you have access to a laminating machine, you can laminate your banner so that it is durable and you can use it again next year.
(5 printable worksheets that are glued together to form a bulletin board display banner.)
Each large whale display is a 3 template banner that is glued together and then cut out as one large whale display. These whales are approximately 18 inches in length and 7 inches in width when they are assembled together and cut out.
This Dive Into Reading Sticker Charts set includes two large dolphin bulletin board displays facing left and right.
